Day 5 - Saying goodbye

Olá! Olá!

I'm back! I know I haven't tell you anything about last day with our Erasmus portugueses friends in the school, but we arrived veeeeery late on Friday and veeeeeeery very tired.
But I'm better today. I went to school to see and tell all what we have lived in this amazing experience and they gave me energy with all the hugs and kisses they saved for me. So let's pay attention and see how was our last moments in the School Group Joao de Meira, Guimaraes.

That morning all students were a little bit nervous because they should start the day explaining the experiments they did in our school and letting them try experimenting in class. We had the help of the teacher Juan who also explain together with the students the steps to make the experiments, but the truth is that all the teachers who were there were so impressive about it that they wanted to try and help too.

They really liked the activity but we couldn't spend more time there as the headmaster of the school wanted to see us and was waiting for us.

What a surpriseee!!!!?? A lot of present bags were on a table for us!!!

He started to congratulate for our work and wish our visit would have been all we have expecting and we would have enjoyed it. We all were very happy and grateful with all the gifts and words received.

However, that wasn't all. After that, we went to plant, together with the other kids, an 'Oliveira' (olive tree) to leave a 'trace' from our school Talhara so they can always remember we were there.

All students collaborate and then, we took our last picture together. It was a little bit sad because a lot of children started to hug and cry as they didn't want to say goodbye. And to cheer them up we also gave them a small present as gratitude.

Finally, it was time of our last activity with students from 8th grade (Susana's class). We visited the 'Academia de Ginástica de Guimarães Guimagym'. The building was designed with the aim of applying the technologies that make it possible to transform it into an energetically independent structure with low CO2 emissions.
There, a man show us the building and tell us many great things about it. One of them was that the Training Center achieved high performance ratings by the LiderA system, with an A++ certification, a recognition that is rare in sustainability, not only in Portugal but throughout the world. Its facade was built with dark agglomerated cork maintaining the association with environmental sustainability.
It was very cool! Isn't it?

Then, it was time to go back to the school, pick up our things and say goodbye to Susana and Teresa, the Spanish teacher. They had been extremely nice and kind with all of us and we really like them as part of our Erasmus family.

Thank you very much again for giving us this opportunity to travel and visit your amazing school, learn from you and make all those new friendship.

We wait you in Seville at any time.

Sincerely,

Mr. Water.
